Cancun Fishing Questions About

Choosing A Fishing Charter

Cancun is known for a variety of pelagic fish year round. However, some species are in higher numbers during specific times of the year. Check out our deep sea fishing calendar for more information when planning your trip.

It depends on what you’re looking for. If you want to have a great time, then a 4 hour deep sea fishing charter is enough time. However, if you are looking to capture a specific fish – like a sailfish, barracuda, wahoo, or others then we suggest you book a longer trip to increase your chances of catching what you want.

Aside from the time on the water, the biggest differences between our fishing charter options are how far out we travel, types of fishing techniques used, and lunch being available for longer trips. Take a look at our deep sea fishing charter options for more information.

Any fish you catch can be cleaned and cooked during the charter or for you to take with you once your trip is over. Bigger species like the sailfish and Marlin can be released after the catch unless you wish it to be mounted.

All necessary equipment is provided but if you want to bring your own that’s ok too!

Yes! The cost of transportation to/from your hotel on the day of your charter is $125 and can be booked at the same time you reserve your charter.

For deep sea fishing charters of any skill level, we recommend bringing a hat, shorts, t-shirt, sunglasses and sunblock. If you have experienced sea sickness in the past, or are not sure if you will get seasick on the trip, we suggest you take preventative medication or invest in motion sickness bands/patches.

Yes! Our team is used to working with a variety of experience levels, even people who have never fished before. One suggestion we have for first-timers is to ensure they take adequate steps to prevent seasickness during the trip. Access our first time fishing guide for more info!

We do not put groups together. Entirely too much can go wrong offshore. For example, if we put you with another group and they get really sick and have to come back, it ruins your day. Or, if we hook up with a giant Blue Marlin, who decides who gets to fight it? Or, what if the other people are simply annoying? We have found that putting groups together is a rotten idea.
